Neurotransmitters
Neurotransmitters
Neurotransmitters are chemical molecules that “ferry” vortex impulses across the synapse from one neuron to the next. Each type of neurotransmitter has a specific molecular form that acts like a "key into a lock".
If its shape fits in the next neuron, it will produce an effect on that neuron. There are two types of Neurotransmitters:
- The ones that increase the chances of passing on the vortex impulse are the excitatory neurotransmitters.
- The ones that reduce the likelihood of passing on the vortex impulse are named inhibitory neurotransmitters.
