Repeate the previous exercise until both the appreciation giver and receiver experience a significant transforming effect. Then, share this with the work/play shop facilitator.
When pain is involved and the shifting does not happen, either one of the following options could be exercised:
- Release frozen Attention by having the appreciation receiver direct their Attn to something in the room and talk about that briefly. Then deliberately shift back and forth until some form of release and insight occurs.
- You can also let the receiver make exaggerated gestures while talking until some release occurs,
- Communicate non-vocally the c2C to the personas of the appreciation receiver, while continuing the 3DAA.
- The “hidden hand“ technique:
- instruct the persona in the "driver seat", non-vocally, using appreciative attention, what you want it to do. If that does not work, then,
- instruct the persona in the "driver seat", non-vocally, using the strongest gutter language possible, what you want it to do.
- If the blockage is a trauma, then a simple regression technique might be better:
- When was the 1st time they felt absolutely SAFE after the traumatic event. Let them feel it by practicing belly-breathing. Relaxation will follow.
- While feeling safe, guide them back to a ‘state of being’ prior to the traumatic event. Get them to visualize the ‘attacker’ before the attack.
- Then, let them imagine and experience in their mind and body what they would have done to avoid the attack or collision. This allows them to release the pent-up emotions and energy.
- Use option #1 when physical over-activations occur. Also apply the CB+T on those body parts.
