Operating in Survival Mode?
If a corporation operates in Survival mode, then the Allocation of Attention energy to strategy might not be enough. Action might be taken as well. How about:
- bringing in a consultant to shake up the minds of management,
- having a management retreat to focus on strategic matters,
- focusing management minds on threatening actions by competitors,
- systematizing routine work to the degree that it is duplicable without requiring a lot of Management’s Attention.
Structure is a potent tool for directing the quantum Attention particles of employees and external stakeholders. One of the main reasons people organize themselves, is to focus Attention energy on a selected common goal.
