If the motorist waits, it will run until it feels safe. It will discharge every ounce of energy created in the freeze response before it resumes its ordinary activity. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"213\" height=\"160\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/userfiles\/image\/deer-in-headlights-600.jpg\" style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small; text-align: center;\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">A threatened animal (including the &ldquo;human&rdquo; animal) must discharge all the energy mobilized to negotiate that threat or it will become a victim of trauma. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Infants will discharge this energy in the form of shaking, screaming, kicking and crying, as it can neither fight nor flee. So it must discharge the energy mobilized in its system. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">However, adults find this response highly disturbing.
