You said something but they didn&rsquo;t respond.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">He or she suffered from an impairment of <a href=\"http:\/\/thebrain.mcgill.ca\/flash\/d\/d_12\/d_12_cr\/d_12_cr_con\/d_12_cr_con.html\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">consciousness<\/span><\/a>, a dysfunction in the brain. He or she was both there and not there, in some way attentive, bodily present but consciously unaccounted for. Absent without physically leaving.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The matter of mind, in general, and of <a href=\"?p=784\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">consciousness<\/span><\/a>, in particular, allows us to exercise the desire for understanding and the appetite for wonderment about the very nature of ourselves as a human being.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Question: &quot;Is the mind an object in the brain, or an inter- active process between our brain, body, and surroundings? <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Is this process of mind more like a reaction and response to attention-energy (<a href=\"?p=817\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">bio-photons<\/span><\/a>) sent into our environment?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">A response comprising of a series of streams of images and feelings, flowing through the body and brains and creating neural projections that we normally refer to as thoughts?&quot;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"136\" height=\"150\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/userfiles\/image\/sperms.gif\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.neurology.org\/content\/early\/2016\/11\/04\/WNL.0000000000003404.short\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">Harvard study results<\/span><\/a>:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"> Injury to a small region in the rostral dorsolateral pontine tegmentum was significantly associated with coma-causing lesions. In healthy adults, this brainstem site was functionally connected to the ventral anterior insula (AI) and pregenual anterior cingulate cortex (pACC). <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">These cortical areas aligned poorly with previously defined resting-state networks, better matching the distribution of von Economo neurons. In patients with disorders of consciousness, connectivity was more disrupted between the AI and pACC, than any other brain networks.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Conclusions<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">: This network of brain regions may have a role in the maintenance of human consciousness.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/R._A._Schwaller_de_Lubicz\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">Schwaller de Lubicz<\/span><\/a> concluded that the <a href=\"?p=1078\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">ancient Egyptians<\/span><\/a> had a radically different consciousness from ours. They viewed the world symbolically, seeing in nature a &quot;writing&quot; conveying truths about the metaphysical forces behind creation&mdash;&quot;the Neters,&quot; as Egyptian gods are called. It was a vision Schwaller believed we desperately need to regain.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">At the center of this vision was Conscious Man, the King. For the ancient Egyptian Pharaohs, Conscious Man was the crown and the goal of cosmic evolution, a perception many nature-centered mystics would dispute.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">But the Anthropocosmos Conscious Man is not &quot;woman\/man as we know her\/him today.&quot; It is the individual in whom the &quot;intuitive intelligence of the heart&quot; has awakened, one who has had the experience of &quot;functional consciousness.&quot;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">&quot;Functional consciousness&quot; is a way of knowing reality from the inside. Schwaller believed ancient Egypt was based on this inner knowing, very unlike our own outer-oriented one.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">The ancient Egyptians were aware of the limitations of purely cerebral consciousness, the Set mind that &quot;granulates&quot; experience into fragments of time and space.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><strong><a href=\"?p=525\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">read more &#8230;<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Impaired Consciousness ?
