There is no "unconscious or dream state" in reptiles because they are 24/7 in a waking state.

Thus, the reptilian part of our brains is also awake round the clock, and controls our “sleep and dream state”, when the left hemisphere is "relaxing and house cleaning".

Chemicals released by the neo-cortex repress the lower brain reptilian part during our waking hours. However, it is still functioning like “an invisible hand”.

But, the reptilian brain is not satisfied with being relegated to the "night watch" of an inert body. It wants to feel alive and be appreciated all the time.

The reptilian brain is a powerful source of human behavior, because it is hidden. It is deceptive. It is kept secret from our conscious mind.

But we do know it emotionally and intuitively. It is like the slithering serpent in the darkness! It is operating in the unconscious part of our psyche and appears to communicate with the reptilian brain part of other people telepathically.
