mRNA’s Role?

Role of mRNA in protein synthesis:

  1. Represents the sequence of codons (mRNA language) from the DNA strand for transcription.

  2. Brings the sequence to the ribosomes (site of protein synthesis) in the cytoplasm, because it is small enough to leave the nucleus, for translation.
  3. Provides the sequence for the synthesis of specific proteins from the amino acids (found in the cytoplasm).
