mRNA’s Role?
Role of mRNA in protein synthesis:
- Represents the sequence of codons (mRNA language) from the DNA strand for transcription.
- Brings the sequence to the ribosomes (site of protein synthesis) in the cytoplasm, because it is small enough to leave the nucleus, for translation.
- Provides the sequence for the synthesis of specific proteins from the amino acids (found in the cytoplasm).
