Attention at Drift?

Attention Bits at Drift is the result of,

not yet having fully completed and integrated a past experience or a current reality. It may comprise of:

  • hidden agendas
  • resisted experiences
  • misunderstood words
  • secrets and undelivered messages
  • incomplete projects and information
  • violations of agreed upon communications procedures
  • incomplete/inaccurate data about someone, something

These drifting bits float around in my mind and body and are like dry sponges that suck up my attention-energy like water. When I try to think of an area in which I have drifters, I will feel exhausted. When I try to study a subject in which I have drifters, I begin to yawn, fidget, or go blank.

A magician deceives our attention by deliberately creating drifters: While making my eyes focus on one hand, he does something else with his other hand.

Drifting bits carry just enough resistance or unknown to prevent them from being integrated with the current structure of my mind. Drifting data appears to shut down my ability to think deliberately, it creates uncertainty, and resembles stupidity.

How to spot their symptoms, and make them disappear? Their main symptoms seem to be:

  • irritability
  • confusion
  • distraction
  • exhaustion
  • self-destruction
