About your Biases

We all view the world through different lenses. This has to do with our upbringing, our collective experiences, and our subconscious behavioral biases. Inherent biases cause us to make judgments based on invalid or incomplete information.

Until we take a deep look into why we see the world the way we do, we’ll never have the capacity for real change. Those who are ready to change can use one of our practices.

Scientific research shows that many unconscious biases ring through in our judgments and decisions. Bringing them to light will clear our thinking; making our world seem more real.

Some are effects of information-processing rules that the brain uses to produce decisions or judgments. These are called cognitive biases, and often result from wishful thinking. Some biases include a variety of cognitive ("cold") and motivational ("hot") explanations.

When getting to know others, people often ask questions which seem biased towards confirming their assumptions about the other. Is this bias a useful social skill, or is there a better way to establish a connection with someone else?

Click here for an extensive list of common biases, many of which are beliefs that were adopted in a state of pain

One method to handle these biases is the Avatar dis-creation and re-creation procedure:

  1. Identify yourself with the subject, or bias, or conviction/belief, and feel how it feels: its shape, weight, and possible interactions with its surroundings.
  2. Define it and expand to its outer edges/borders (like a sphere) with the unknown in all directions.
  3. Label it without judgment, and regain the attention attached to that creation: let the creation be what it really is.
  4. Disassociate yourself from the creation by recognizing: This is not Me, this is my creation.
  5. Dis-create the creation. Stop the flow of energy. Flip the switch.
  6. Create a Primary by feeling what reality you like to experience. Chose something exciting. Say it out loud in the present tense.
  7. Handle all secondaries one by one by going each time thru the above steps, until you either experience your chosen reality or see a clear way to eventually experience that reality.

If you have a problem with a very persistent bias try this:

Persistent Mass Handling Procedure:

  1. Identify a persistent reality that you rather not carry around. Ask yourself: What bothers me, what do I want to work on now?
  2. Feel the resistance towards that creation (pain, feeling, desire).
  3. Expand your attention towards the source of that resistance. All kinds of feelings and things could happen. Feel them all but stay focused on the expansion. Do not get side-tracked.
  4. Continue until you arrive at the source of that resistance (the core-creation).
  5. Now, fully experience this source, by expanding and exploring this creation. Do not respond to any impressions you are getting.
  6. Continue experiencing, expanding and exploring it, until you reach its outer edges all around.
  7. Label it without judgment.
  8. Recognize: This is not Me, this is my creation.
  9. Let it all dis-create, implode.
  10. Repeat the above until you feel totally satisfied with the result.
