Castor Oil

Castor bean plant

Castor oil increases the count of T-11 cells and total lymphocytes in the blood within 24 hours of application. This energizes the body’s defense mechanism.

The oil can also be applied on any itchy (acne), inflamed, or painful area. Castor oil packs are used to provide relief from back, abdominal, feet and menstrual pains.

Its fatty acids and vitamin E stimulates hair and nail growth, charges up blood circulation and frees the skin/scalp of any mold, microbial & fungal infections, and dandruff.

Ricinoleic acid is the fatty acid that makes up ≈ 90% of the castor oil. Tests showed it appears to bind to one particular cell receptor in the intestines and uterus, the EP3 and EP4.

Both cause these cell walls contract. EP3/4 have varied roles in the body, from changing the structure of neurons to controlling how blood clots.

When taken orally, ricinoleic acid, an unsaturated omega-9 fatty acid, gets released in the intestine and functions as a laxative. Its heat allows for digesting the undigested food and for system cleansing through proper bowel movement.

It hydrates the skin (hands/legs), and fights infections and yeast overgrowth. It removes ringworms, stretch marks, wrinkles, and heals cuts & wounds, and cracks in nipples.

Castor oil is anti-allergic in nature. This helps getting rid of allergies related to skin, nose and throat. Topical application resolves cysts, corns, bunions, bone-spurs, warts, fungal-nails, and moles.

It is a natural laxative and helps with insomnia, acne, fungal infections, hair loss, migraines, arthritis, stress marks, cataracts, dry & cracked feet, skin burns, stones in organs, and supports the immune system.

Virgin Coconut Oil

In the Philippines, the coconut tree is known as the Tree of Life. From the root to the top, this tree is one of the most hardworking plants in history. Having the largest seed and the largest flower cluster, within the plant species, the coconut palm has made tropical living sustainable for years.

The seeds of coconut palms, the coconut, wash ashore sandy beaches, implant themselves, and then start to mature and blossom after 5-7 years. The coconut palm generally enjoys it’s fruit bearing years for about a century. After that, it will be harvested for its leaves and trunks.

Coconut water, coconut milk, and coconut oil are all products of the coconut tree. The freshest, tastiest coconut water is found directly within the nut, when the coconut has matured to about 8 months. Nutritious and loaded with electrolytes, coconut water is enjoyed as a healthy and refreshing beverage.

After a few more months, the coconut has matured enough to extract the sweet milk and virgin oil from the coconut meat. Coconut milk, perfect for vegetable curries, is rich in taste and is used to create virgin coconut oil.

Dried coconut meat can be used to make pastries, cakes, preserves, ice cream, and candies. The oil derived from dried coconut meat (copra) is used to make a wide variety of products, like cooking aids, cosmetics, feet-exfoliating, soap, lotions, margarine, and more.

Coconut tree leaves are woven together to create fans, hats, mats, brooms, baskets, thatched roofs, and more. The ribs of the leaves are used to make arrows, spears, and cooking skewers. Coir fibers are used to make entry mats, scrub-brushes, and other home necessities.

The durable, weather-resistant wood from its tree trunks is used to build fences, boats, tables, small bridges, etc. Coconut oil can also be used in hairdressing and massaging.

Health Benefits

The coconut seed contains an oil called MCT, Medium Chain Triglyceride, fatty acids of a medium length, that raise HDL (the good) cholesterol and change the LDL cholesterol to a benign subtype. They create a better fat burning, and thus reduces chances of a heart disease or obesity.

According to the USDA National Nutrient Database, one tablespoon of coconut oil contains 117 calories, 0 grams of protein, 11.8 saturated, 0.8 monounsaturated and 0.2 polyunsaturated fat, and 0 grams of fiber and 0 grams of sugar. No vitamins or minerals.

Most of the fatty acids in people’s diet are LCT’s, long-chain fatty acids. The MCT’s in virgin coconut oil are metabolized differently. They go straight to the liver from the digestive tract, where they are used as a quick source of energy and are called Ketone bodies, a major appetite reducer.

Ketones are messengers who tell the mitochondria in each cell to uncouple some of the protons and oxigen components in their bodies. This uncoupling creates heat, reduces the mitochondria’s workload, and helps perform mitosis, the creation of new mitochondria.

These Ketone MCT’s give the gut, and head brain cells a very therapeutic energy source, because it is easier to burn than the only other known fuel source, glucose.

The benefits of this oil can be attributed to the presence of lauric acid, capric acid and caprylic acid, and their respective properties, such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-fungal, antibacterial and soothing qualities.

Our body converts lauric acid into monolaurin, helpful in dealing with fungi, viruses and bacteria, like Staphylococcus Aureus (a very dangerous pathogen), that cause diseases like herpes, influenza, cytomegalovirus, and HIV.

Caprylic acid kills the yeast, bentonite clay absorbs the toxins, and the psyllium husks move it all out of the colon.

Extensive global clinical trials have shown that the health benefits of applying organic, virgin, cold pressed coconut oil include less hair damage, less sugar cravings, higher moisture & lipid content of the skin, partial UV blocking, stress relief, mouthwash, weight/waist loss, boosting immune system, better regulated digestion & metabolism.

It also provides relief from kidney problems, heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, and cancer, while helping to improve dental quality and bone strength, because it allows better absorption of calcium, vitamin D, and other minerals.

Virgin coconut oil is good against all fungal infections because of ever-emerging drug-resistant Candida species.
